Claimed Violation of Trademark, iPad is prohibited for sale in China

An intermediate court in a city in China, Huizhou, decided on Friday that the distributor should stop selling the iPad in the country. Is the Proview International, a company based in China that revealed it was quoted as saying PULSAonline via Associated Press.

The cause of the banning of iPad sold in this country because of a trademark with the same name have been owned by Proview. No doubt Apple also claimed to have violated the trademark by the company.

Apple responded to the problem through a spokeswoman, Carolyn Wu, is blaming Proview does not honor its agreement with Apple in China and Hong Kong.

"We have purchased the Proview patents worldwide for iPad trademark in 10 different countries several years ago. Proview refused to honor their agreement with Apple in China and a Hong Kong court has sided with Apple in this case," says Carolyn Wu.

Proview apparently looking for ways to prevent Apple to import or export it to China's popular tablet. In addition, the Proview can also sue the Cupertino-based company to pay about 2 billion USD (as a form of compensation).

Last week, at least 45 units of iPad has been pulled from store shelves in various cities in China. However, in other areas Apple is still selling its flagship tablet in the country which is famous for it's size wall.
